From the desire to build an architectural brand exclusively dedicated to the realization of exceptional private projects, the French architects Thomas Vielliard and Jacques Francheteau combined their names to create the company VIELLIARD & FRANCHETEAU EXCEPTIONAL ARCHITECTURES. Construction of exceptional villas, luxurious renovation of remarkable houses or apartments, transformation of prestigious properties, castles, hotels, or wine estates, the agency puts its expertise specialized in luxury for more than 20 years, at the service of its international customers. Our team, which brings together architects, town planners, interior designers, decorators, and a site coordinator, supports its clients in all the essential stages of an exceptional project, in particular on the following missions:

Partners Thomas Vielliard and Jacques Francheteau engineer, architect and urban planner.

Thomas Vielliard, an engineer and architect from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industrie in Strasbourg, and an urban planner from the prestigious Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, brings his rigor and solid experience to large-scale projects.

Jacques Francheteau, an architect with degrees from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris la Villette and the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Nantes, reveals the richness of his varied professional background, and the elegance of his interpersonal skills.

They have won several awards and distinctions in architecture and urban planning, including the prestigious Prix Françoise Abella from the Académie des Beaux-Arts de France.

Thomas VIELLIARD set up his first architectural practice in Lyon in the early 2000s.

All our staff have a strong culture of luxury, excellence and contemporary art. The company operates mainly in the Rhône-Alpes and Provence Cote d’Azur regions, from 3 local offices in Cannes, Sainte-Maxime and Lyon. In each of these sectors, the company has surrounded itself with a network of local or national partners who are experts in the technical disciplines required to master the design and complete realization of a project, notably : Landscape designers, lighting designers, structural, fluid, thermal and acoustic engineers, site supervisors. VIELLIARD & FRANCHETEAU architects have made a rigorous selection of local and national professional contractors, guaranteeing that their clients’ projects will be built in compliance with French technical standards, which are among the strictest in the world. For projects costing in excess of 10 million euros, the agency calls on the expertise of a general contractor, Infinity Partners, to provide the customer with a turnkey commitment, certifying the price and completion date of the project.

Feasibility study

The feasibility study is the exploratory phase that enables you to make an informed decision about purchasing a property, whether it’s a plot of land for a new build, or an existing house for renovation. The agency works with you to ensure that the construction possibilities offered by the property match the final project you have in mind. This phase begins with a no-obligation meeting with the agency to discuss your project. At the end of this discussion, which can take place by videoconference, telephone or in person at our offices, the agency will draw up an estimate for the feasibility of your project: Analysis of your needs and finalization of a program to suit you, visit to the property you are considering, analysis of the local PLU applicable to the property and any additional planning regulations (PPRIFF, coastal law, etc.), identification of technical and administrative constraints, drawing up summary plans of possible project scenarios, evaluation of the cost and timeframe of the project (studies and works).

For this phase, calling on the services of an architect, whose professional practice is governed by the code of ethics defined by the French National Order of Architects, imposes on him a duty of impartial advice and assistance, is to reassure you and guarantee you the right choice of property compatible with your project, and financially coherent as an investment. We can complete this mission within 2 weeks.

The pre-contract sketch study as the best criterion for choosing your architect

The sketch study is an assignment proposed by the agency prior to signing a full architect’s contract, to enable you to obtain our vision of your project, and to ensure that it responds intelligently and sensitively to your aspirations. We recommend it when you already own the property, land or house to be renovated, or are in the process of buying it, and want to be sure of your choice of architects and interior designers before signing a final contract. We believe that the best criterion for this choice is your commitment to the project that the architect or decorator is going to design, and which must meet your expectations.

By contacting the agency to discuss your project, we can draw up an estimate for the production of this sketch, which includes :

– On-site visit
– Analysis and summary of planning regulations applicable to the site
– Development of your program
– Ground plan design
– Detailed interior plans at 1:100 scale
– A summary table of surface areas per room
– Creation of 3 3D views, allowing you to appreciate the project’s integration into its surroundings, or the interior ambiances of the decoration.
– A rough estimate of the cost of the work and the time required to complete the project.
