Concrete modern villa with sea view at Cap Corse
Anchored on a steep plot of land on the east coast of Cap Corse, this architect-designed house, with its totally contemporary lines, reveals the natural beauty of a grandiose landscape overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
a modern house conceived as a hyphen between mountains and sea
Built like a landscape stratum, the villa bridges the gap between two worlds: the dense, lush mountains facing a flat, serene, unobstructed sea.
Set on the hillside, the villa’s sleek design acts as a panoramic revealer, emphasizing the horizon between two strong lines. The link between these two worlds is continued in the interior spaces, which combine the intimacy and natural protection offered by the hill with the theme of the jetty opening onto the horizon: the night-time areas are set against the hillside, while the daytime spaces face out to sea. Subtle interplay of partitions defines axes and frames the landscape.
The transparency of the bay windows erases the “mass” of the architecture in favor of the linearity of the raw concrete slabs. The sobriety of this contemporary residential architecture avoids all artifice and respects the sensitive and striking beauty of this preserved site on Corsica, an island of beauty.
