An exceptional contemporary home in black concrete near Brussels
French Architects Thomas Vielliard and Jacques Francheteau were commissioned to design a daring contemporary home in concrete and glass on a magnificent site in the exclusive suburbs of Brussels. In the midst of modern villas designed by renowned Belgian architects, the agency opted for an uncluttered architecture that blends into the site’s wooded environment.
A luxury modern black house
Black-tinted untreated concrete was chosen to conceal the structure of the architecture. Combined with a main facade overlooking the garden made entirely of glass, the surrounding vegetation is reflected and extends the natural aspect of the site.
The 2-storey home offers 4 en suite bedrooms on the first floor, each with its own bathroom and dressing room. On the first floor, the double-height entrance is enhanced by a ribbon staircase leading up to the first floor. The entrance hall separates, on the left, the 150 m² living room/kitchen area with its windows overlooking the garden, and, on the right, a luxurious, independent master suite.
All these rooms have a panoramic view of the outside. This transparency, which characterizes the firm’s architecture, puts nature and the luminosity of the outdoors back at the heart of the interior spaces.
