Contemporary interior renovation of an old character house in Lyon
The architects carried out the complete renovation of this classic 19th century house in Lyon, reconciling the modern interior style desired by the owner with heritage features such as period fireplaces, wood panelling, cement tiles and the grand central staircase.
The interior layout was redesigned by the interior architects to make the rooms more fluid and luminous, and to create a large living space more in keeping with the modern comfort sought.
Luxury interior decoration subtly combining contemporary design and traditional style
The kitchen has been opened up to create a convivial central island around which the family and guests can gather, with the dining room linked to it, and the new living room extending from it.
The overall decor is inspired by the codes of timeless luxury: classic lines, noble materials and natural hues, but with a twist thanks to custom-made pieces.
In the living room, two black leather and velvet sofas signed by the architects, custom bookcase arrangements and 2 spectacular hanging lamps above the dining table create the uniqueness of the space.
On the second floor, a large master suite has been renovated with its own dressing room and large private bathroom, complete with whirlpool bath. A guest bedroom and office complete this level. On the second floor, 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms provide a separate world for children.
Since this successful renovation in Lyon, architects Vielliard & Francheteau have been called on to work on a number of projects to transform old houses with remarkable heritage.
