A luxurious contemporary house overlooking Lake Geneva
Architects Thomas Vielliard and Jacques Francheteau designed this large, contemporary, luxury home of over 1,500 m² in Thonon-les-Bains, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Situated between the town and the grandiose panorama of the lake with the Alps in background, the architects designed a residential architecture that plays on the opposition between a public face and an intimate face.
A transparent architecture dedicated to lake view
On the entrance side, the house appears massive and compact, with a volume marked by concrete that conceals and protects the interior spaces, whose grandeur can be glimpsed through a few glazed openings.
When you open the double entrance door, a large central glassed-in, planted patio reveals 3 interior levels: the first floor houses the reception areas, with several lounges and a vast kitchen opening onto its island bar; the first floor houses the sleeping areas, with 7 suites; and a lower, semi-buried level, through the glass facades of the patio, reveals a mirrored indoor swimming pool and a luxurious wellness area.
On the unoverlooked side of Lake Geneva, the house is nothing but transparency, with an exceptional view overlooking the sparkling waters of the lake by day, and the lively lights of the shoreline by night. In the garden, a long infinity pool and a pool house shaded by a large concrete slab complete the luxury of this exceptional home just a stone’s throw from Geneva, on the famous corniche of Thonon-les-Bains.
